Join us for our celebrations from 2pm to 4.30pm in the Wood near the

Friday 28th August / Thursday 3rd September -
Pocklington Canal Trip
Meet at the landing stage at the cut to the canal down from
the Melbourne Arms, Melbourne at 6pm prompt for the barge trip, or
meet at the Dunnington Reading Room car park at 5.15pm beforehand.
Numbers are limited on each trip, so please book your place
beforehand with David on (01904-) 488674 by Monday 24th
August and let him know if you need a lift. A donation by each trip
member of £5 to the Pocklington Canal Preservation Society who
organise the barge trip is suggested. The trip lasts about 2.5
hours, so bring refreshments or a picnic with you if you wish.
Sunday 18th October - Fungal
Meet at 2pm at the
Intake Lane entrance to Hagg Wood for an Autumnal Fungal Foray to
investigate the mysteries of the fungi that can be found in the wood
at this time of year.
Wednesday 25th November - Holgate
An illustrated talk by Helen Hoult and Richard Green on the
history of Holgate Windmill and its restoration by the Holgate
Windmill Preservation Society. Meet at the Reading Room at 8pm.
Admission is free to members, non-members £1.50, and refreshments
Sunday 10th January - New Year Lunch
Join us for our New
Year celebrations for lunch at the Dunnington Sports Club at 1.30pm.
The precise menu and cost will be available later, but if you would
like to come, please let David know on (01904-) 488674 by 17th
December. There will also be a New Year walk in Hagg Wood at 12 noon
before the lunch, meeting by the children’s play area in Intake

Woodland Working Parties - Conservation in Action
These will be held on the mornings of
Saturdays 12th September, 17th October

and 5th December so do put these dates in your diary.
Meet at 10am at the Hagg Farm end of Intake Lane. Bring gloves if
you can, and wear stout shoes or wellies.
